Me and CESL

I began my first English course in the CESL, AE1, in the last summer. After this course I went to visit my father in Chicago, it was the most interested vacation in my life, because it was the first time I saw my father after more than four years, so I spent a nice moments with my father. I was surprised when I saw Chicago for the first time; it is one of the biggest cities in United States, I like the down town of Chicago, there are high buildings, there are a lot of people, most of them came as a group to visit Chicago. the most thing that I was interested with were the Chinese restaurants, my dad and I ate every day in one of them, I like Chinese food; it contains rice, meat, and sea food. In CESL I make many friends from different countries China, Japan, France, Turkey, and Spain. I was happy spending my time with these people. CESL teachers are good and friendly. Even thought, they give us much homework, but I like that because that helped me to improve my English skills. I have to take one more class, GSE, so it will stay in CESL for on more class.

My Goal

It was my big dream when I was 18 years old. From the freshmen year for me. I was thinking to complete my PhD in the United States. Some people will ask why. I have to reasons. First, it is the most developed country in the world. Second, Most universities In United States support research. So to achieve this goal I worked hard in bachelors and masters degrees to get high scores. After I finished my masters in Applied Mathematics I began take English courses to improve my English skills. But I couldn’t wait to get a high score in TOEFL, so I tried for a long time to find that give me a conditional admission, finally. I found SIUC. This was the first step, but the hardest step was the interview in the American embassy in Jordan. So I applied to this interview and it was in June 4, 2008 at 8:30, so I waked up early in that day and prepared for this interview. It was the hardest day in my life I have to speak English for 10 to 15 minutes with native American speaker. The interview took 15 minutes he asked my many questions, but I answered bravely and clearly. After that he said congregations you got a student visa but you have to wait for two weeks they will check you, as you know. But I waited for three days before I got the visa. Now I’m here in United States to complete my PhD. I’m happy because I achieved my goal, which I worked since I was 18 years old to achieve.

My love

I heard about many of love stories from my friends. I read many Arabic and English love stories, and many of poems which talk about love. But I never thought that I will fall in love with some one. It happened finally. I fell in love with the most beautiful woman in the world. For the first time I saw her big black eyes. I felt there are many arrows came out from her eyes and entered my heart She is not a human being. She is an angel came from the sky to this planet. Before I saw her; I was a strong man. I saw many of beautiful women and they are many of them around me, but I never give them a second look, because I always thought that love makes men weak. But I like my weakness now. Women think that men are always strong. Some of them think men are without heart even. Now I realized when the men became weak. Men can face any thing like wars, danger animals, and disasters. But not love, because they can practice to face all these things, but they can't practice to face love. This is not a sign of weakness for the men, but it gives them the power to face this life hand by hand with another person, who gives them all the love that they need.
There are many men who spend all their life try to find real love.
I found my love, which I was always seeking. I'm happy and I hope all men find their love too.

My snow man

Miss Understand

Every language has her own alphabets. For me Twines, Chinese, and Japans use amazing letters in their languages. The same thing happens for me many times. When some one ask me to write some thing in Arabic.
It is not about alphabet letters only, but also the pronunciation of theses letters. I faced hard time when I try to pronounce any word from another language. But later I realized that I’m not the only person who faces this problem. People find it is difficult to pronounce same words in other languages.
My roommate told me a story about one of his friends. He is an Arab guy. This Arab guy faced a problem in his first few days in Carbondale. In his first day in the SIUC in the morning he spend a long time to find a parking for his car. But he realized that he forgot something so he left the parking for five minutes. When he came back; he saw a person who try to park in the same place so the Arab guy said “ why you parking here,” then the other person, he is an America guy, said “ I’m not a dog to bark here.” yes the American guy heard it “barking” not “parking”, because there is no such letter pronounces like “p” in Arabic. So both of them start shouting, but there was another person fixed this miss understand.
What happened to this Arab guy can happen with any one, who is not native American speaker. So be careful when you speak with native American speaker.

I was born in Jordan. My home town is a small town located in the north Jordan. I love my country as most of people do.
I put my country flag in the living room, so when I mess my country I just look to this flag to remember all the nice moments I spend there. I always like to talk a bout my country. Most people don't know much information about Jordan. Jordanians are nice and friendly people. I know people have a bad idea a bout all Middle Middle eastern countries. They that all people there are torridest or belong to Al-Qaida group.
There are many people don't no what is the meaning of being torridest.
I hope from all people who have a bad idea about my country, visit Jordan to know how much the people are good their.
